Tasha Huntley Westmiller

Tasha and I go way back. Our families lived in the same neighborhood growing up and Tasha is the same age as I so it was only natural that we would meet. In the grand scheme of things she hung out with all the girls of the neighborhood, or basically, the sisters of all of my friends. Tasha went to the same schools as I, but then kids our age didn't really co-mingle often... for fear of cooties and whatnot. I attended school with Tasha from first grade til ninth grade. There isn't very many people I know that I had an opportunity to "grow-up" with so it is very awesome to catch up with them on Facebook and see them as an adult.

Tasha and I have always got a long pretty well, except maybe the time I ran her over with my bike, or when I aggravated a whole nest of bees and threw it at her. (ok, the last one I made up)

Tasha has three awesome kids that she thinks is pretty cool. As far as girls go she was always pretty cool to me, you know.... for having cooties and all :D

Frank Allington

My Uncle Frank, or is it cousin Frank... actually I don't know him by either of those names, and I don't even know him as Frank, I know him as an entirely different name all together.
Of all the things that make me appreciate Frank is that he introduced me to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Frank has been a fan for a million years, heck he introduced it to me when I was maybe 14. He liked it way before those Glee kids were even born, and plotted to ruin Richard O'Brian's masterpiece.

I have made so many friends just based on the fact that I like RHPS it isn't even funny. It is my litmus test, if my would be friend "gets it" then they are worth friending.

I met Frank through my step-father Scott. Frank used to hang out with Scott and the family. We all loved him for sure.

Now Frank is the understudy to Dr Frank N Furter on Broadway as you can see by the picture above. I think Frank is really good Frank material. If anyone can pull of Frank it is Frank.

Dave Raymond

This is my recollection of Dave Raymond when we were in high school. I have always loved his sense of humor, and hopefully this comic will make him smile. We used to draw shit like this in class and we always had a good time with it.

Nathaniel Wilkins

Nate-dog, my cousin, brother in Christ, and without a doubt the funniest cousin a man could ask for. We all love Nathanial's sense of humor, and his personality. He still get's me with his Jim Carrey impersonations... impressions, or whatever (I get the two confused and they aren't interchangeable)

The funniest thing I have EVER heard ANYONE EVER do was done by Nathaniel. He was impersonating Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura when Ace bends over and says "Excuse me, may I assssk you a few questions"... He proceeds to this scene for our Grandmother with dropped trow. Yes, he did the scene with his juvenile ass cheeks playing out the scene.

Just from hearing the stories, it sounded like my Grandmother thought it was funny. I wonder if he got a spanking for it?

Now Nathaniel is in a band called Gigline, you have to check them out. He has also given his life to Christ, and I am so proud to say that he is my cousin. Given our childhood it is hard to imagine us coming to have a relationship with God, but it proves that God will find all of his sheep if we just hear his call.

Brian Albertalli

What I remember Brian Albertalli for more than anything was that he was always in a band. Musicians are always in new lineups, and I don't think Brian was exception to this rule. My favorite band that Brian had was The Preschoolers... oh, god I hope that I have the band name right. Anywhosle, I really really really liked the cassette that I had of them and I thought they were pretty awesome. In fact, for a long time they were in my regular tape rotation between Weezer, and Nirvana. I really don't know Brian nearly as well as I would like to, but I can say that I have a hell of a lot of respect for him for doing what he has for so long. I don't know if Brian is in a band now or not, but I would say it is a hell of a waste if he isn't. I drew this picture of him because I can tell by all his pics he really digs this Becky Goldstein chick. Part of me wanted to draw him singing next to a drum kit with Pete Pulkrabeck because that is the way that I remember him.

Also, on a side note, I had no idea how close the resemblance he has to Alton Brown... I love Alton. Team Alton! lol

Well, I hope life is awesome wherever you are now in it, and I hope that you enjoy the picture I drew of you. I am going to scan in the image when I get to work tomorrow. EDIT: New pic is scanned. It looks much better from the scan.

Kelly Garrett Green

Kelly Garret Green and I both went to Horseheads High School, and I never really had the opportunity to hang out with him then. After high schol I was fortunate to work with him at Montana Mills Bread Company where I first met him.

Kelly had this way of telling stories that made me hang on to his every word. He had the craziest stories, he would be describing something and bust out some word I had never heard, or turn a phrase that was hilarious in itself. "yeah, so they are on the dance floor and he is doing seat grabs and finger rolls..." Who says that? My buddy Kelly. He has too many good stories to list, but I hope Kelly reads this... I am sure he remembers this story.

I drew Kelly with a Spartan Cheerleaders Uniform on because he could be a character on Saturday Night Live... which is saying a lot more than him just being an actor on the show. He was my favorite co-worker at Montana Mills, and the funniest baker I have ever met.

Now Kelly enjoys watching romo (romantic comedies) and has a cute dog named Riley.

Wil Smith

Wil Smith is an amazing friend, and he was at the perfect time. I don't know if Wil realizes what kind of positive impact he played when him and I first became good friends. I really want to let the world know how awesome he is and what part he played in my life when I needed a friend the most.

When I was about 19 and still living with my parents Wil would come over every Wednesday and have me tag along with him to the comic book store. I would pick up a few, and we would go get a slice after... good times. That is the sort of thing that I take for granted now, but at the time Wil Smith was my port in a storm. I had a terrible family life, living my step-father was unbearable. He was an absolute terror to me and my brothers and sisters. Wil would pick me up, and pull me out of that hell. So even if it was just a day or two a week Wil would get me out of there. I don't think he realized how bad I had it there, and if he did he never let on. I don't remember if the younger version of me showed his appreciation for you then, but this is me doing it now. I will always cherish our friendship and I want to thank you.

You helped me appreciate comic books more than you will ever know. They take me back to that inescapable feeling of safeness, happiness, and retreat. I hope your friends you have now appreciate you as much as I did then.

I don't know when or even how I met Wil, we sort of traveled in the same click, and the rest is history.

Right now Wil has so many projects he "is going to have a panic attack" and has an awesome girlfriend whom I have never met... my reasoning says that if she picked my friend Wil then she has to be awesome.

(oh, I drew this over my half hour lunch break and only had a pen... sorry I didnt have an eraser.... I keep picking it apart thinking about what I could change. I hope you like it Wil)

Angela Black

I drew Angela Black today because I was in the mood to show off my skills... I took a little bit longer with this than the last two sketches. I had no idea how long I was drawing, and and hour later I was done. Honestly, the longest part was the hair, but I was totally feeling the quasi comic book style hair tonight so it was worth it. I met Angela through my wife (around the same time I met my wife)

I would love to have more time for this project because I think that this would be an awesome painting. Maybe when I am done with this project I can come back and paint something like this of Angela.

Angela is with out a doubt one of the most straight forward people I know. She has that quality like most of us NYers do that I miss so often down south. No time for nonsense or bullshit and that is what makes us love her. Angela is a student and works full time. She's one of the coolest chicks I know, and if you have the opportunity to know her you would agree.

Roland E Bigford

"i'm a gentelman cause thats the way my daddy raised me... " Rowland Bigford

His words ladies and gentleman. Roland is a gentleman, in every sense of the word. He tirelessly takes care of his 7 children and is a bit of a quilting effecianado. Those are facts.

Besides being incredibly hugable and a fine gentleman, Roland is an excellent Magic the gathering player. He has won pro points, battled countless hordes of enemies, and fell every single one of them.

What can I say about Roland that his other friends have not said... I will post some testimonials from his nearest and dearest friends.

"I dont think Roland would look good in a nurse's uniform..." Paul Sulenski

"Roland your emo status's make me sad...' Ali Aintrazi

"i can feel u tremble when we touch" Will Mckeithan

I spent two hours making Roland into a muppet because I think deep down he is a cuddly fury monster. If you couldnt gather that from those quotes then you have to learn to read between the lines.

Roland is my favorite person to make laugh, just because it is so easy, and ... cause he laughs like a girl, kind of. I mean it isn't bad. I was always told not to make fun of anyones laugh but it does kind of sound girly, but I am no one to talk. I sound like a female bottle rocket exploded or something when something is really funny. Like when Roland let me take his picture for the Worldwake gameday championships. That shit was hilarious.

Well Roland, we all love you. I hope you can use this card in your Magic Cube.

Mike Augustine

I can't believe I have known Mike for over 10 years already. It seems like just yesterday we were in the dish room together washing pots and pans, pushing food carts, and talking about (terrible) Beatles music in the break room of Elcor in little old Horseheads, NY.

Mike's a father now, he has an awesome wife Jamie who was cool enough to give him his first baby, and lives like in Missouri or in Hannah, Montana or something. Despite all of the years it has been Mike is still the incredibly awesome, nice, and humble person that I met all of those years ago. He works in IT now from what I gather on his posts... otherwise he works with people that have really stupid questions all of the time...

Despite the fact that Mike likes the Beatles, and Apple do not deter my man love for him. He is the coolest guy I have ever worked with... like ever. He is the kind of person that you want to root for, and if he were in a teen movie he'd get the girl in the end.

Congratulations again Mike and Jamie Augistine.

Michael Hummel

I actually don’t know Michael very well at all, but through my own very random natural selection process I am writing about Michael next. I actually ran across Michael on Facebook. He is one of my very few fb friends that I have never met in real life, and never been within 500 miles of him. As far as social networking is concerned this is one of the few times it worked.

How Michael and I became friends via fb is because we both commented on one of Shawna Gardner’s status updates. We seemed to share a lot of the same political and world view so we became friends. I am a die hard Republican and so is he… granted he “liked” Sara Palin on his page, but we all can’t be perfect. I hope he likes his political cartoon style image I drew of him. I believe it shows depth of character to love your country enough to be devoted to a political party, and it shows Michael’s true integrity and strength that he chose the right party as well. :D

Jessica Spaziani-Mawhir

Jessica knows sign language... fluently, like I know everyone knows the alphabet in sign language, but did you know that there is more than just that in american sign language. I really didn't know shit about sign language til I met Jessica. I always thought that was a cool Jessica fact.

Honestly the majority of the time Jessica and I would hang out was at a local bar, or at CCC on Wednesdays. I would hitch a ride up to the campus with Matt Breed and she was always up there just hanging out so I would pester her. I drew Jessica's picture pretty quick so don't hate. I know it isn't much of a resemblance... I did the pic in like 5-6 minutes at the end of my shift at work. (after I clocked out...)

Jessica is married to Kyle Mawhir, whom I have never met, but I am sure he is just as cool as her, perhaps even just a tiny bit cooler ;)

K.c. Dequillettes

KC is an amazing guy, with out a doubt one of the coolest men I have ever met in my life despite the fact I cannot pronounce his last name. I guess you may think I am exaggerating a bit if you are reading this, but the truth of the matter is that I am not I cannot pronounce his last name. I may not know KC well, not as well as I would like to know him, but I can say I have never heard that man even raise his voice at another person. I am not saying this man is meek by any means either. He is a survivor. He is an amazing friend. He is a real life Iron Man.

I met KC playing Magic the Gathering in Myrtle Beach, and since we are being honest, he is like in my top 100 favorite players from North Carolina. He is very personable, and was pretty easy to get to know him. If you ever want to make a quick friend while visiting Shallote, NC give KC a call. He tells some awesome stories, so when you meet KC ask him about the time he was kidnapped by terrorists and he had to make a suit of Armor so he could escape… it is my favorite one.
